Isn't this a strange and confusing photo? That's why I like it so much! I climbed to the top of this godforsaken dune called “Big Daddy.” It's the biggest dune in the Sossusvlei area and is 325 meters high. Down below, you can see the lighter colored desert where the dead acacia trees roam. http://www.stuckincustoms.com/2014/12/13/a-mirage-in-the-desert/
Getting to the top of these mountains happened just in time, late on a cool, crisp day on one of my first afternoons in Switzerland. I knew things would be beautiful way up here in the upper atmosphere, but I honestly did not expect the streaming confluence of flowing ice. This is always a nice and unexpected aspect of glaciers - how they look like they are flowing and still at the same time. Zermatt, Switzerland
This was the wildest thing I've ever seen. I got in close to this fisherman on the Li River, and he had his trusty bird-friend right behind him. No matter which way the fisherman turned his head, the bird looked the exact same way. It reminded me of the daemons from His Dark Materials. I have about 6 frames I shot where they are all looking in the same direction as they rotate their heads… I wish I had it on video!- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
