StuckInCustoms > A Little Place I Found on the Way to Dinner in Germany I wish I could walk to dinner every night and find little places like this along the way. Since I carry my tripod and camera just about everywhere, I'd always be ready in case something like this pops up!This was shot in Halle, Germany, just a short train ride from Leipzig. I love how these old churches are often lit with orange lights... I think it always makes them look nice against the blue dusky skies.Setting up the tripod for these evening HDRs always allows you to set the ISO as low as possible, and in aperture priority mode, the shutter will stay open for a long time, letting those clouds drift by and drag light across the lens. StuckInCustoms > Ready to Strike I found this guy in some caves just outside of Kuala Lumpur. I've always wanted one for a pet because it is both eccentric and people might mistake me for a bond villain. I understand these can be house-trained even. Well, one of these can be house-trained and the other kind, that looks similar, is quite dangerous and the bacteria in his saliva can kill you. So, since I always get Gila Monsters and Iguanas confused, I never ended up getting one because I would hate to bring home the wrong thing.This was a single-shot HDR. It really helped to bring out all the texture and color in the scales. This is one desolate place.It's the southern coast of Iceland where the sea and the wind were absolutely ripping their way past me and the lighthouse. I always imagine what it is like to be inside of one of those lighthouses, all night long through the winter. StuckInCustoms > About 13km into the Andes Trek Our hike is starting to get closer to our quarry. The destination inside the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares are the isolated peaks of FItz Roy.Every few kilometers the terrain can change drastically. Because all the land around here is recently glaciated, the soil is very fresh and full of life. The strange mountain formations make for unpredictable weather patterns and cloud/fog formations across the landscapes. Even better, we are here in the middle of autumn, so many of the leaves are turning.It's always a welcome relief to take off my pack, set it down, and then wander about for some photos. I grabbed this one along the way to share with you all.I noticed that the Wikipedia entry for Monte Fitz Roy said, "the weather in the area is exceptionally inclement and treacherous". No shit. Wait until you see the shot I upload tomorrow. StuckInCustoms > The Magic of Disney's Main Street at Night Disney after dark is very cool... All the lights change and it comes alive even more, if possible. One trick that I have picked up is the essential nap while at Disneyworld for the entire family. We head back to the room after a busy morning and a carbo-bloat lunch for a family nap. It keeps everyone sane. And then, we can all stay up late with minimal chance of breakdown. StuckInCustoms > This is Ranjit Ranjit's dream is that he gets to work in the factory again.Ranjit is currently sitting in front of an old restaurant on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. He used to work in a nearby factory, making aluminum parts, but he was replaced after his cataracts got too heavy and he began making mistakes. Ranjit does not like being a burden on his son, who doesn't come to see him much anymore. He says, motioning off into the distance behind me, "The boy is in Putrajaya, living in government house."
