StuckInCustoms > Milan Train Station at Midnight If you want to see how I made this (and how you can too!), visit my HDR Tutorial. I hope it gives you some new tricks!I had a super-long day in Milan. I was tired and just wanted to go back to the hotel to have a cappuccino in the bar and edit photography on my laptop. But I remembered the really pretty train station and how I wanted to get a shot with nobody around.I went in around midnight, found the perfect spot, and then shot away.The HDR process always takes that slick concrete and makes it extra-reflective. Reflective ground is always great for photography. Also, people always think that I "colored" the lights up at the top, but I did not. In fact, I never "paint" on my photos. StuckInCustoms > As Night Settles on the Old Lake Here is another photo that is too good to be true… and, unfortunately, it is.This is a replica of Portofinio, Italy. It’s a resort hotel in Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios. It’s so wonderfully fake — and so wonderful at the same time. I can’t quite decide if I like the fakeness of it all. It does make for amazing photos, though, so that is cool. Maybe it’s kind of like a really hot girl that has had a lot of plastic surgery. There’s some fake in there, but it’s still nice to look at. StuckInCustoms > Temple in the Jungle Highlands - Byodo-In I would never have guessed that something as ornate and unique as this would be buried up in the deep jungled highlands of Oahu!It is a popular destination, and I guess people in Oahu know about it, but I had never heard of such a place. This is the Byodo-In Temple, and I happened to arrive right when the sun came out. After I was roaming around this area, a few of my Argentine friends told me it was quite dangerous. There is a popular area nearby that is much safer, but I heard it attracts the criminal element... and they are more likely to pick off the weak wildebeests on the outskirts... this was definitely the outskirts.

I was in for less than 24 hours when I decided to get up to the top of this nearby mountain to shoot down on the whole scene. The thing that did not make us happy was having to get on the ground with our tripods in the lowest position. StuckInCustoms > Our Galaxy over QueenstownI took this photo on the evening of the Aurora Australis a few weeks ago. I came up with (BY ACCIDENT!) a new way of orienting the Milky Way so it goes straight up and down. Really, in the sky, it is a little bit tilted to the right. Anyway, here’s the trick.When you take the photo, have your camera tilted to the left a bit. Then, when you crop later in Photoshop, turn on the “Perspective” checkbox and drag over the upper left corner until it is parallel with the Milky Way.
