There are more valleys and rugged mountains around here than I could ever explore. I’m starting to really believe this! I know there is a lot of cool stuff around me, and, in the beginning, I had a confidence that I would be able to explore it all — but maybe not! Whenever I get up in a helicopter and fly around, I’m reminded how vast this place is. Vast and mostly empty. It’s like scary-awesome-empty… it’s really kind of a strange feeling flying over it in a way… so remote and beautiful and empty…- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Frogs in the Paris Opera Can someone explain this to me? I cannot figure it out. Maybe they are just being quirky.I took this with a fisheye lens inside the Paris opera. I can’t imagine what the internal bureaucracy is like within the Paris Opera for various art displays inside. And I can’t figure out how this one got through. But maybe there is a major art meme that I missed that includes well-dressed amphibians.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
The Frolic and the Fancy by Max Patte Here’s the first photo I took of these transcendent statues. I’m surprised at people’s reaction to this photo online. So many people thought they were real! I suppose I did too the first time I saw them. There is one other very unusual thing. I don’t know what they are made of, even though I was right beside them. Obviously, I know next to nothing about sculpture, but I have some basic knowledge of materials (I think!). Anyway, I absolutely am not sure how they are made… I’ll ask Max and report back to you! - Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
