Oahu had a peaceful coast where the waves would silently roll up on the beach and other more violent areas where the water would smash against cliffs and rocks. I’ll let you guess which of those is happening here! The only thing missing here is a human so you can get a sense of scale, but I can try to describe it. If there was an average sized human standing there, you could easily stack them 50-high to get a sense of the top of that crashing wave. Oahu, Hawaii
Wow we got some great sunsets during those late Alaskan nights! When I looked out across the sea, there were so many kinds and temperatures of moisture, so that must have contributed… there was the cold ocean, warm mists, rolling fogs, low and high clouds, plus a mixture of a lot of moisture in the atmosphere. Altogether, it made for a great cocktail of prisms for the light. Fun fact about Juneau, the capital of Alaska. It's the only capital in the US that has no roads to it from another part of the US. Well, except for Honolulu, but that one is obvious. Maybe they'll build a bridge some day. Juneau, Alaska
Here’s one of the great things about this particular Chinese temple – it was practically empty. Strange, I thought, because every other temple is completely overloaded with people doing this and that. It was very easy to explore around and find many interesting angles and scenes. The other great thing, of course, is that absolutely nobody minded if I used a tripod. I always appreciate pure tripod freedom whenever I occasionally get it! Beijing, China
