StuckInCustoms > The Runner of Blades
More and more cities are giving me that feel of Blade Runner. It's such a great movie... well, the first half is great. It drags a little after that. Okay okay I know that is blasphemy... just my opinion and everything. I know I should not say such a thing...

Anyway, this is a very trendy place in Beijing. There are many trendy places, all futuristic, all full of cool shopping and restaurants, all great for photography!

StuckInCustoms > Alcatraz in the Dusk
Today's photo was taken recently in San Francisco. That tower you see there in the mid-distance is Coit Tower. Just beyond that, in the middle of the bay, you can see Alcatraz.

I've never made it out to Alcatraz to take photos, but it is on my list. I wonder how much freedom (!) I would have out there to roam around with my tripod. Have any of you gotten out there?

StuckInCustoms > The Cathedral Under the Cathedral What an awesome place this is… This is the cathedral that is on the bottom level of Sainte-Chapelle. I did my best to capture the feeling of this place, and I hope I did an adequate job. This is a handheld HDR taken with 5 exposures. It was really quite difficult to hold the camera still. I felt a bit like a sniper in Call of Duty.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
StuckInCustoms > Sunset at Glacier National Park I’m having a nice weekend processing photos. I just completed this one a few hours ago, and it brought back good memories of Glacier National Park. I don’t think I ever really got warm there. Even in the room there was a steady chill. This is a strange memory of that place… I normally don’t mind the cold as there are a few occasions to warm up and reset my system. - Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
StuckInCustoms > Glacier in the Fog
Yesterday's photo was of Glacier National Park, and today we have another glacier - but this one is from Argentina.

The glaciers in Glacier National Park are really quite boring. I'm sure that's not a nice thing to say, but it's true. The only ones I saw were quite far away and not very epic-looking. Maybe I was in the wrong place, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! :)

StuckInCustoms > Monkey Monkey
This might be the dumbest name for any photo ever, but all bets are off with these snow monkeys.

Did you know that Nolan Ryan from the Texas Rangers has a bunch of snow monkeys in South Texas? Oh yes, listen here. Really - listen! :)

StuckInCustoms > Lighthouse in Iceland
The northwest fjords in Iceland have quickly become one of my favorite areas of the country.

People ask me all the time, "I'm going to XXXX country, where should I go?" That is one of the reasons I created the new Stuck On Earth -- for just that purpose. Now, when you zoom into Iceland, you'll see a big collection of images up in this area. Whenever you see clusters of pins in one area versus another, you'll get the general idea that one area has more photo hotspots than another.

StuckInCustoms > The Digital Aurora Borealis
There's not many places where you can get a colorful sky in the middle of the night. China seems to be one of the best places to have these strange digital phenomenon.

This place is called "The Place." It ranks right up there with some of the other awful names of Chinese locations. They should hire a poet or two so these places can sound more exotic. I'd be happier if it was called "Tomorrow Sky" or "The Sea of Matrix."

StuckInCustoms > The Sound that of Clattering Wood in the Breeze
Upon entering the oldest part of this ancient town, I passed by these tiny shingles that hung in the air. They made a delightful sound as the wind went through them, and it kind of set the mood for the rest of the exploration.

This woman was holding an umbrella to shield the sun. It did get a little steamy from time to time... I wish I had one too!

StuckInCustoms > Ascending to the Temple at Night
There is a temple atop a huge hill in Lijiang that has several "staging areas" for rest along the way. This is one of them.

This is an area where I took a lot of photos of the old town below. That area is kind of behind me here in this photo, although that is hard to tell from this vantage. It is a good resting place to recharge your batteries before finishing the rest of the hike up the stairs to the top. There's also a little shop here that sells snacks and drinks... To me, a true adventurer never passes up a good snack.

StuckInCustoms > Late Night in Germanville
This area of Epcot is one of the best for night photography. There was a little bit of light in the sky, so I had to make this shot as quickly as possible. I didn't really have time to do a proper scouting, but this was such a nice situation, I made it happen as quickly as I could. I think my full-tripod-setup is under 25 seconds in these emergency situations.

Normally, I like to zen out and take my time. Others, like this, are the result of sheer, bloody panic.

StuckInCustoms > The Cheerful Austin Christmas Dragon
It was a great PhotoWalk in Austin last night! Remember to tag your photos with #gplusaustin -- and click around to see some stuff. We had over 100 sign up on plancast, and it got pretty crazy because a lot of people brought friends and family. It was a lot of fun to meet people.

We had one guy come in from South Africa, a gal Karen Hutton come in from California, and many more from all around the Texas area. Everyone we very nice and fun as usual.

I had an autographed 2012 calendar to give away, but I forgot! Sorry that was lame of me... I had it on the floorboard of my car and everything, but with getting the kids out and everything, I forgot - you know how it is.

StuckInCustoms > Old Jogjakarta I visited this area of Jogjakarta day after day to get different light and different conditions. This is the old temple of Borobudur, and each of these “bells” is a stupa-cage that protects stone buddhas that sit inside.I wanted to get a photo of the inside, but it’s extremely difficult… so you’ll just have to take my word for it! :)- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
StuckInCustoms > Patagonia Alive
While walking across this open field in the Andes, I stopped countless times to open up my tripod. I'd only walk a short distance before looking around again and seeing everything anew.

I'd like to go back here on another epic hike. Perhaps I'll go in the deep of winter next time. This place would be even more amazing under a fresh snow.

StuckInCustoms > Century City When I stayed with Tom earlier last week, we went up the hill from his home to take a few photos of the sunset. One area looks towards downtown, and the other looks towards Century City, Hollywood, and the Pacific ocean beyond.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
