It’s a very old building, and there were many natural compositions that presented themselves. StuckInCustoms > The Dubbo Drive In The night before was stormy and wet and all around rather unDubbo. I had read stories from Mark Twain about people needing to use a shovel on their carpet to get dirt out of their homes in Dubbo. But I didn’t see any of that. On the morning we flew back to Sydney, I saw this abandoned drive-in-theater. The venue was all locked up, and there was a big sign that warned of a guard dog. I discounted the sign because it looked older than the average age of a guard dog.So then I figured out the best way to wedge my body between the gates while staying below the barbed wire. StuckInCustoms > The Secret Path Through the Bamboo Forest I went on a hike through an amazing old forest while on Oahu. It was a wet and rainy day, and the muddy path was so slippery — there was almost a negative friction!At one point about halfway into the hike, we came across this natural door over the pathway formed by the trees. StuckInCustoms > Deep inside the Queen Victoria Building This is an amazing place to explore in Sydney! There are great photo-ops around every corner. The Romanesque architecture is whimsical and full of color. And even better, no one bothered me about my tripod!Here’s a cool little factoid about this place. Inside, there is a secret letter from Queen Elizabeth II that is to be opened and read by the Lord Mayor of Sydney in 2085. StuckInCustoms > A Fun Weekend on the South Island I jumped in the car with the family to take a little road trip down to Milford Sound. I took a bunch of photos, but wanted to go ahead and share three of them here with you. I know I usually just share one a day, but this is a little bonus I guess!The road from Te Anau to Milford Sound is insanely beautiful. StuckInCustoms > Waterfalls and Flora I jumped in the car with the family to take a little road trip down to Milford Sound. StuckInCustoms > Windows in Paris – The Saint Chapelle I wish I could find a good wide-angle lens like this Nikon 14-24 for my Sony NEX-7. I think one is coming out in a month or so… and I’m thinking of trying out the Olympus 7-14mm (Adorama link). StuckInCustoms > Awesome Lobbies of Beijing – The Opposite Hotel Everything about this hotel was pretty funky. Yes, they were trying too hard to be edgy-funky, but that’s okay, because it kinda worked. I guess what I’m trying to say is that there was subtlety here in the funkiness. StuckInCustoms > Sailing on Lake Wakatipu The car trip started here in Queenstown on Lake Wakatipu. It was a perfect spring day, and there was a lone sailboat down on the lake. StuckInCustoms > Inside the Conciergerie The French know how to build a beautiful prison! On the downside, it held up to 1,200 prisoners at a time, which sounds more like a French subway.They don’t like you using tripods in here. I asked if the punishment was to just leave me in the prison while I take the photos. And then, when I stopped using the tripod, they would let me out of prison. StuckInCustoms > Evening on the Beach in Virgin Gorda This is the beach that was just a short walk from Toad Hall, the place we stayed during our fun trip down to the islands. The sand was so soft and powdery, and the water was like a warm bath. I guess that’s why this area got the name “The Baths” although I am not sure.Do you like this painting effect?
