Big Cities and Little 'uns
Not far from here, I had a bit of a sketchy moment! Locals will know where this is, and there is a long alleyway with all kinds of intersecting and twisting bridges above. It's an awesome street and absolutely Dickensian! Anyway, I was walking there, and one guy ran up to me and said in a thick accent, “You better be careful around here, people get mugged all the time!” Of course I was thinking this was all a trick and he, or one of his secret friends behind me was about to mug me! Well, no worries… it was all fine after all.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
I was on a helicopter over the Persian Gulf and saw Dubai from a distance. It's amazing how much the sand can give the city sort of an epic haze. At first I thought it was pollution, but my friend Sebastian told me it was sand. It absolutely reminded me of the spaceport from Star Wars. - Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Here's a massive panorama I took of one of the most amazing glaciers on the main continent of Antarctica. It's hard to explain how big this is, but I have my friend Stu there on the left for scale. Can you see him over there? You may have to squint!- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
