Here is a rather amazing place on the Hobbiton Movie Set — inside the Green Dragon. There is a roaring fire, and I mean absolutely roaring! This fire was behind me in the intro to the “Organize Your Photos!” tutorial. Man, that thing was so hot, it almost melted me. Of course, Pickles just sat there, taking it all in its stride! We had just finished a huge medieval dinner on the dining room table behind me. It was amazing because we all had to eat with our hands and there was enough food to feed an army of Hobbits. The shapes in Monument Valley are right out of all the westerns you watched when you were a kid. So, when I was there for the first time it was a bit surreal. Now, I know many reading will have been there several times and they are experts at this area… but it was all fresh and new to me! As long as there are good clouds, I think it is relatively easy to get a good shot here! Sort of a lay-up, I think! Some photos you have to work really really hard for… and those are fine… but I also like a few of these that make themselves a bit easier. Canyonlands National Park, Utah
This is the turn-around-point for my jogging route! I run around this area between Queenstown and Arrowtown and end up at this place. Sometimes if I am feeling more full-of-energy (rare), I’ll go a bit longer, but usually not. This is a beautiful place to loop around and begin my return journey. I don’t know much about this place, other than it is a bit hidden from the road. If you look for it off Speargrass Flats, then you can see it, but you’ll never notice it if you’re just driving down the road like a normal person. I’ve heard they have theatre shows here and have had a few film crews show up. Either way, it’s cool! Queenstown, New Zealand
