The Rising Setting Sun I’ve tried to detect pattens for when you see these streaming bits of sun at sunrise and sunset. At first, I thought it was just related to moisture and particulate in the air. Then I thought it was related to clouds five+ miles away that are naturally broken up with gaps between them of several hundred meters. Now I think it’s a combination of the two. Maybe this explains why it is so rare. Now that I live in the mountains, I never see the horizon any more. It doesn’t bother me so much, but it is harder to get these kind of shots. Those of you that also live with no horizon know what I mean! :)- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
This was my first time into the famous slot canyons — I’ve always wanted to go! Look, here’s the honest truth. You just can’t take a bad shot in there. That’s nice, really – lay up after lay up… so then I guess you can goof around and try to do something interesting and unique and have fun with it… that is what I did here at f/11 exposure and playing with multiple shafts of light streaming in from above.(and yes, of course I used the Sony NEX!) - Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
This was a cool night here at Mont Saint Michel in Normandy. It was almost cool enough to make me want to go back and hang up my camera for the night, but there was just enough warmth and excitement in me to keep going. This is up inside one of the many twisting back roads and pathways inside the old monastery and town. The only sound was a black cat that would scurry here and there.
