The chandelier would swing back and forth from the high-peaked ceiling as the tractor slowly pulled the mobile home across the sand. Everything made perfect sense as long as you didn't think about it too hard.
She celebrated the morning sun with a gypsy dance. Every minute she seemed to get more and more energy, like a flower that would bend to the new sun.
There was a special place in heaven where his screams went in the night. They echoed there and fell into a misery alone and harnessed. The jackals laughed from below, staring blinded into the sun.
Her massive horns from the underworld, long and hard and skeletal.
The Dock in the Desert Here is a new photo from the most recent Burning Man.The playa is covered with endless artistic creations — every year new and fresh. This was a strange but inspired idea to build a dock that slowly rises out of the desert. It attracted all sorts of strange characters and activity.I didn’t take out my main camera too much because of the sand problem, but I did for this occasion. This was a standard 5-exposure HDR with some cleanup to fix the problem of movement between frames.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
The mighty dragon flew strong against the sandstorm. It blew and ripped, and the sand scoured and blasted through the structure with it a long hollow whistle. There was no sound but that deep sigh of the wind trying to pull apart the mighty beast. The sound was of a long and empty death.
White Flower in Desert This is from Burning Man two years ago.I can’t even remember why I set up in this area to take a shot. I was sort of drawn to it. It was so interesting to me. In some ways, it matters why the flowers are there and it doesn’t matter why they are there. And you can say the same thing about every little part of this photo. To me, this is all very nice and I can’t quite put my finger on it.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
That giant pirate ship in the background is actually a huge vehicle that rolls from camp to camp. In the foreground are two of the many people that walk around in the middle of the day with ornate umbrellas.
A fire dancer performs in front of one of the many art displays that is set to burn in just a few hours or so.
