Mont Saint Michel at Sunset Oh my god getting to this location at the last second was difficult and lucky.I started the wild car ride about 30 minutes beforehand inside that walled city. I looked on Google Maps to figure out how to get to this exact spot. Now, I had no mobile internet, so I basically had to memorize the way here. It required going through, and I kid you not, about seven different roundabouts, each one exiting in a strange, non obviously spot. Anyway, to my and Tom’s surprise, I exited each one perfectly and made it here with ZERO mistakes. Another Bridge in Melbourne I like these cities that get all fancy with their bridges. Melbourne certainly does! Each bridge tries to out-do the next. There’s no common theme and its sort of a mish-mash of styles, to say the least. I think that not everyone likes this, but I do. I don’t mind all the variety, especially from the perspective of photography.It’s kind of the same way with the buildings and other decorative elements around downtown Melbourne. There are so many styles, most of which are one flavor of “modern” or “contemporary”. I enjoy mixing and matching different elements into compositions, but it is not easy. Frogs in the Paris Opera Can someone explain this to me? I cannot figure it out. Maybe they are just being quirky.I took this with a fisheye lens inside the Paris opera. I can’t imagine what the internal bureaucracy is like within the Paris Opera for various art displays inside. And I can’t figure out how this one got through. The Towering Old Village Aren’t medieval places the best? Yes! I wonder what it would be like to live here all the time. Maybe you’d get tired of how charming and Hansel & Gretel everything is all the time… I doubt it though!Around this old monastery of Mont Saint Michel is a curtain wall where you can easily walk along the top. Old Londontown Here’s a fun photo I took while crossing the bridge on the way to Westminster Abbey. You’ll also notice it as one of the main shots featured in that video we put up on the StuckInCustoms YouTube video.A big reason I ended up tilting the photo wasn’t just to be quirky or artsy or whatever, but I felt like I really wanted that cool light fixture in the photo without losing balance. A normal shot ends up with the light and abbey quite prominent, but a lot of “dead space” in the upper left. The Ceiling of the Paris Opera House I stole this photo-taking idea from Matt Knisely! At first, I would lay down on my back and try to get the shot. But that was frustrating and bothersome. Then I saw Matt just put his camera on the ground with a timer then run away! Under the Basilica of St. Thérèse, Lisieux After the adventure with so many great people in Paris, Tom and I rented a car and started a little road trip through Normandy. We ended up here in Lesieux, thanks to sweet sweet Stuck On Earth. The cathedral is quite amazing, and, if you go, don’t forget to go look at this extremely ornate chapel underneath the larger one. The Cemetery in the Monastery Castle I know that purists tend to call this place more of a monastery, but I call it more of a castle! To me, after all, it just looks like an almighty castle (said in Bob-Ross-voice), doesn’t it?For this one, I got down pretty low with the Nikon 14-24 lens. I had the engines pushed to Warp 10 at 14mm! Exploring the Medieval Mont Saint Michel I think if you ever go to Mont Saint Michel that you should really try to stay up on the island. Hotel space is extremely limited, but it gives you the chance to walk around the old walled city deep into the night.
