The Cemetery in the Monastery Castle I know that purists tend to call this place more of a monastery, but I call it more of a castle! To me, after all, it just looks like an almighty castle (said in Bob-Ross-voice), doesn’t it?For this one, I got down pretty low with the Nikon 14-24 lens. I had the engines pushed to Warp 10 at 14mm! Mont Saint Michel After Paris, I rented a car with Tom and we drove off through France through Normandy. We finally arrived at this magical place — an amazing location I’ve always wanted to visit.It’s a huge fortified monastery atop a fortified and walled city. At low-tide, you can walk out across the sand to get there, but in high tide, it becomes an island. Is there anything more awesome? The Castle Crackled with Magic as its Gods Held Lightning, Ready to Smite Down the Non-believers Is there anything cooler than the old architecture throughout Europe? I say there is not.In this upcoming article that I’m working on for Smashing Magazine, I mention a membrane between fantasy and reality, and, for whatever reason, seeing things like this help me drift back and forth between what is real and what is not real. Shopping in the Queen Victoria Building Whenever anyone (non-photographers) sees me with my tripod in a shopping mall, they assume I must be on some kind of a commercial assignment! I guess there is still a general association of big equipment to commercial photography by those outside of our sport.See that castle in the middle? Every so often, there is a little automated puppet show that delights the crowd.
