An Open Air Lounge in Kuala Lumpur Isn’t this place awesome? It’s a bar on top of a roof of the Trader’s Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. It looks out across the new skyline at the Petronas Towers. Malaysia is a pretty hot and humid country, so sometimes it’s not quite so comfy to sit outside. I don’t like to sit outside in muggy conditions… I just don’t. I remember that I played indoor soccer there in Kuala Lumpur on another night and it was one of my top 10 sweaty nights. Afterward, the only way to cool off was to drink about 128 oz of iced carrot-milk. That doesn’t sound very good, but it is.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Inside the Train Station I think, as Americans, we are over-the-top interested in European train stations. I really enjoy them. I don't know why... they just seem like really interesting places to be. This is part of the train station in Leipzing -- the part after you get off the train and go into the shopping area. Curiously, if you look at the large or original size, you can see taxi cabs driving through the inside of the mall. I do not have a full explanation for this.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
A Snowy Night at the Kiev Opera House It was quite icy and snowy in Kiev that night. I walked up near the opera house and found this shot. The blue lights inside along with the old Soviet car out front gave it all a very cool feeling.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Inside the Borg Ship There is an amazing hallway that connects the The Hotel at Mandalay Bay with the rest of the casino. It's long and at its end is a cool bar, which is a welcome respite no matter what kind of night you had in Vegas. Actually, I wouldn't really know since I don't drink... but, I do like to hang out in them, drink tomato juice, and process photos on my latptop. Yes, this is lame, I know.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Notre Dame of Lyon This is the interior of the Basilique Notre Dame de Fourvre. It is probably the most lavish and beautiful cathedral I have ever been inside. It beats the other Notre Dame in Paris by a mile. I’ve never been in the Sistine Chapel, which is probably more lavish. I was going to visit it on my last trip to Rome but the Pope died the day I was there… so that one was… busy.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Stuck in Customs in Space I love this shot! It came out wicked. I used to say wicked a lot in grade school and I still like saying it. This may or may not make me lame, and I can't be objective about such things. This is the airport in Bangkok, Thailand. I am not sure who the architect is, but it came out quite inspired. Taking photos of beautiful architecture is somewhat of a sport of mine. I want to try to honor the lines and the textures via a good composition and a good HDR treatment.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
