The Megopolis Hong Kong - What Happens Around Dusk Believe it or not, there is a small documentary being filmed about me. I don't know what to think about it - only to assume it is going to be rather boring! I think it is going to be a lot like Grizzly Man, just without the bear.As this gal is going about her process of gathering materials, she asked me for a few of the original shots from Hong Kong so she can show them during the documentary. Le Arc de Triumph from the Champs-Élysées This wonderful landmark is always fun, but challenging, to photograph. It's right in the middle of a roundabout that is as dangerous as that thing Bond got stuck in to test G-forces in Moonraker. There was a recent rain, and the Champs-Élysées was shiny and perfect in the cool dusk air. The Dirt Road to the Nuclear Blast Site I felt lucky to have a wild sunset in Yellowstone! I’ve probably been to Yellowstone 5 or 6 times, and you never know what you’ll get! This night was perfect… I had woken up early, so I was tired by mid-afternoon.. I took a catnap in my car and woke up to see the sun was going down in less than an hour! So, I looked at my map and figured out some good spots to go. The Massive Glacier at Dusk This is the Perito Moreno Glacier that empties into Lago Argentina. It was simply awesome to be there, as you can plainly see.I was there with a bunch of Russians who had brought an insane amount of cognac. Between shots, they would all drink cognac, yell, and try to bring down the next ice wall. The Setting Sun and the Farm As I was leaving a network of jagged roads through some mountains at the end of a fjord, I emerged out into this Icelandic fertile crescent of sorts. Stück in Germany - Dresden After the Bombing, Way after the Bombing After the carpet bombing from the American and the British in 1945, the city of Dresden was left in ruins. in the past 60 years, the city has been meticulously rebuilt to its former glory.I had a busy week at the game show in Leipzig... did some good deals and had good meetings... and I took the train on Saturday to Dresden to explore while all the other game people seem to go out to bars until 4 AM and drink, well, like Germans. I don't know if I am lame for going to bed early then waking up at 6 AM to catch an early train to a city to explore, but that's okay with me. Just me and my ipod and my camera...I've been completely blown away by Dresden. It was recommended to me by a few friends and after spending the day there, I have to say that it compares closely to some of my best photography days around Italy or France. The Baroque architecture is stunning and it is completely unique and charming. I wish I had more time there, but I did get a bunch of good shots I will sprinkle into my stream in coming weeks.I'm off to Ukraine next... Aeroflot here I come. I hope the mechanic does not come down the aisle again making a collection to buy a part for the plane.
