The Forever CoastOahu looks like such a small island on the map, but the coast seems to go on for ever and ever! We drove around the island in a counter-clockwise manner and popped out of the car from time to time.To get to this spot in particular, Tom and I had to jump over the guard rail and run out onto a little cliff. It was quite high up, so I didn’t get too close to the edge… but the high perspective helped me to aim down along the coast without needing to show the horizon.- Trey RatcliffRead the entire post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Oahu Vacation Well, it wasn’t really a vacation. It was work. Hard, wet, slogging work. Don’t let this picture fool you. Okay, you can let it fool you a little bit… This is about the only sun I got the whole trip. 90% of it was me being extremely wet and rather physically and emotionally drained. Things were so wet, in fact, that they declared part of Hawaii a disaster area! I was there for about a week with Tom Anderson, and he was so excited to show me his second home… he had big dreams of fancy-free days, taking photos on sunny beaches… be we had very little of that… However, I did my best to produce a lot of images while there… here’s the first one I wanted to share with you.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
The Gentle Rays
On my first evening in Yosemite, the sun did some amazing things. There as a big group of Google+ people converging on Yosemite, but I arrived a day early for a little "me" time. Nature must have felt my mojo because it all conspired to create some interesting results as the rays tumbled across the valley floor.

Mountains Forever During the Yosemite PhotoWalk, the sky was beyond belief for the first few nights. The second half of the trip had fairly mundane skies. So, I was happy I went out there and got a lot of shots in the beginning!I’m often optimistic about the “future” of the trip, assuming that the sunsets will always get better and better. This rarely is the case, so I don’t know why I’m consistently optimistic about the prospects.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Waterfalls at Midnight I had done a little research about the southern part of Iceland before my trip, but I left enough gaps to be surprised. On this particular night, it was about 65 degrees (18 C), so it was just a tad perfect. The air was wet with moisture from an evening rainstorm, and it was held aloft by the strange weather patterns. When I first saw this waterfall, it was around midnight. By the time I got into this position, it was about 1 AM or so.Once again, I had not seen another human for hours. It was so eerie walking around these amazing places alone. Typically, with something so grandiose, you sort of expect a bunch of tourists to be lurking about. So, alone, it all feels a bit post-apocalyptic. But thanks to a ton of video games, I'm well versed with how to survive in these situations.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
