Entering the Dungeons Here’s the dungeon from under that French chateau that we visited several months ago. I can’t imagine actually living in a house with a dungeon. I mean, it would be pretty dang awesome, but you would also feel like you’d have to put the place to good use. I guess I have a few enemies that I could capture and put down there, but that seems a bit extreme. Maybe just have parties and stuff. Or maybe a studio for processing down there. It’s hard to say… it all seems a bit dreary. Maybe when I get some miner-bots, I’ll minecraft up a design under my existing house and send them on their way. I can carve something out down there. The Alps from Above Scott Kublin and I took the train from Zermatt through the Alps to St. Moritz. Right after we arrived, we went to the top of the nearest mountain to take photos and have dinner. This place seemed to fit the bill!If you ever want to take that train — I recommend it! Thanks to everyone on the blog here that recommended it to me to begin with! Wind and DriftwoodIt was so windy out there — I’m not even sure the video captures it! Maybe you can see the wind ripping the top of the foam away from the waves… or maybe you can see some of the sand blowing across the beach. And it’s just as hard to capture the feeling of it all in the photo as it is in the video. I don’t have the benefit of multiple frames, so I try to get all of that in a single frame. The Mariposa Woods While we were at Yosemite for the big PhotoWalk, we took an evening to visit the Mariposa Woods. They were very close to our hotel, and it was an easier drive than going all the way to the main park at Yosemite. Plus, I had a feeling the sunset would be quite stunning through the trees. My feelings don't always work out, but this time it did.My methods still haven't changed for these kinds of shots. Seven exposures: from +3 to -3 seems to get the job done. The Cathedral Under the Cathedral What an awesome place this is… This is the cathedral that is on the bottom level of Sainte-Chapelle. I did my best to capture the feeling of this place, and I hope I did an adequate job.This is a handheld HDR taken with 5 exposures. It was really quite difficult to hold the camera still. I can’t imagine actually living in a house with a dungeon. I mean, it would be pretty dang awesome, but you would also feel like you’d have to put the place to good use.
