The Abandoned Boiler Room from the Queen Mary Here’s the next photo from the amazing ghost ship! Well, I don’t know if that is what it is really called or not, but we did walk into this room during our little ghost tour aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach. It was very creepy, alright… mostly alone in this huge old ship from the war… and these vast interiors felt very hollow and eerie in their emptiness. Across the Floors of Union Station This room is closed to photography for some reason! Actually, it’s totally closed to all human traffic. I’m not sure if this was a one-time thing, but I got the feeling it was because the ropes and whatnot that told me not to go in here seemed like they had been there for a while. You know the feeling. Perhaps they only open it for the rare events…But I went through the silly ropes and took a photo anyway. The security guard came to get me, but he was pretty nice about it. The Ghost Ship in Long Beach The Queen Mary ghost-tour is a must! It’s a great way to see the whole ship while having a cool story wrapped around it. Even better, you can set up for photos and bring a tripod! Some of these places are soooo dark and creepy that there is no way to get a good photo without a tripod.The old pool still had sort of a blueish glow that fought against the orange glow from the lights above. The Griffith ObservatoryThis was a very fun night in LA.I went up to the Griffith Observatory with Tom to grab a photo. I had always heard about this spot, but never made it up there to take photos of my own. The conditions are very difficult, and the parking was quite rough. Electric LA at Night I took this a few nights ago in Los Angeles. I’ve always wanted to get a good shot of the downtown action, and Stuck On Earth helped me get it.Luckily, I saw a few hints of this kind of a shot from other photographers that had geotagged shots in the area. I went out there with Tom Anderson and we spent a few hours exploring the area. The Private Room It was a dark and mysterious set of serpentine stairs that brought us to this room. Where could it be? Who can identify it? You all are so hard to trick... None of these has ever stayed mysterious for more than 24 hours... but maybe, just maybe, we can have this one stay a mystery! And I know people zoom into 100% on these to look for clues... this one is a little messy at 100%, so I am a little embarrassed by that... Play in Beverly Hills, Shop in Beverly Hills Well, those signs pretty much say it all. The city council voted down the less-popular alternatives, "Get Mugged in Beverly Hills, Get Ladyboy Hookers in Beverly Hills". Those were right out.While I was shooting this, a stretch limo pulled up beside me. The driver and I had a nice conversation... Santa Monica Boulevard You know those images we all have of Los Angeles, California? Pretty roads, lined with palm trees, people on roller skates, and convertibles driving by without a care in the world? Well that is only about 1% of Los Angeles. The rest, sadly is not terribly exciting. But, why not go ahead and take photos of the top 1%? Yes, that's what we do as photographers.
