Chicago Forever I took this from on top of one of the highest buildings in Chicago. Everyone else was shooting in the other direction - towards all the big buildings. The Pub Now, I did not take this one on the PhotoWalk in Austin -- at least, not on THIS PhotoWalk. My apologizes, but this has been a busy time for me and I haven't had a lot of time to process the most recent photos from SXSW! I do have a few, and they are coming up quite soon.Also, you can tell this was taken in the winter, because the sign mentions that the rooftop is heated. The Galaxy Cafe When I was recently at Universal Orlando, Ethan and I made a late night getaway to do some exploration. We were staying at the Portofino, and they have a wonderful boat system that skirts you down to the main park. We jumped on the boat after dark to go down and visit this little area of shops, restaurants, and dozens of other interesting things to see and experience. I've gotten him used to the idea of roaming aimlessly, taking photos of this and that, with no real goal other than exploration and noticing little things.Ethan and I stopped at a tiny trinket store and bought a few necklaces and bracelets for ourselves and the girls. After that, we grabbed a few hot cocoas, got on the boat, and drifted back home. The ROT Biker Rally Every year we get thousands of bikers that descend on Austin for a few days during the big ROT Biker Rally. They cruise up and down 6th Street and close fill the streets with incredible bikes and works of art. It's an amazing place for photography, so I was able to take a break this evening and go down and shoot for a few hours.I remember when I was growing up that bikers where just about the scariest people on earth. But now, everyone I have met seems to be much nicer and more affable than the average joe. They love having pictures taken of their bikes and generally seem to love life. The Magic of Disney's Main Street at Night Disney after dark is very cool... All the lights change and it comes alive even more, if possible. One trick that I have picked up is the essential nap while at Disneyworld for the entire family. We head back to the room after a busy morning and a carbo-bloat lunch for a family nap. It keeps everyone sane. And then, we can all stay up late with minimal chance of breakdown. Ripping Through the City Streets of Tokyo This photo was taken on my final night in Tokyo. It was rainy, cool, and perfect for street photography. It's hard to explain HOW clean my sensor was in this photo. I had the privilege of taking it to the Nikon Headquarters in Tokyo and having the sensor cleaned by a real Japanese guy. Times Square at Dusk (New York City) (btw, you can DIGG this photo here)Times Square is one of the most photographed places in the world. I usually try not to do touristy thing, but hey, it's Times Square. I thought I would try a new take on this shot, arriving just as the sun started to set.The biggest problem was people waling in front of the tripod, totally aloof to my HDR quest. Disney after dark is very cool... All the lights change and it comes alive even more, if possible. One trick that I have picked up is the essential nap while at Disneyworld for the entire family. We head back to the room after a busy morning and a carbo-bloat lunch for a family nap. It keeps everyone sane. And then, we can all stay up late with minimal chance of breakdown. Seeing kids breakdown at Disneyworld is just not right... it's not so Disney...
