This is Sujatmi Sujatmi’s dream is that her grandkids grow up to be brave and smart. She is currently sitting in a makeshift annex area in a bustling riverside community in Jogjakarta, Indonesia. Dozens of tiny thatched and improvised houses are cobbled together and brightly painted. There are kids running around and other adults running after them, trying to get them to sit still so they can begin school. I’ve accidentally interrupted the whole affair while getting confused in the tiny alleys, no wider than a set of shoulders. The Homes by the river in Indonesia The density of the homes was remarkable, everyone right on top of the next. Bistrot de Lyon I went out to dinner with a bunch of cool Russians after the conference on Tuesday. We went down one of the most popular streets in Lyon to have some seafood. Afterwards, the founder of this other company and I went out to shoot photos.. I think we walked the streets for about 3 hours until 2 AM. It was a big mistake since my flight left early the next morning! Don’t Worry Mom – The Roads in Iceland Aren’t That Bad I drove up to the extreme north of Iceland yesterday to do some serious exploration. I told my mom not to worry… the roads are not too bad. A Chilly Morning in Boston Common I had an 8 AM meeting in Boston but woke up round 6 to go walk around the Boston Commons and frolic in the snow. There was no frolicking involved. There was a lot of freezing involved, and it reminded me of a bad morning I had in Kiev with a gypsy cab in a blizzard. The Tracer Late one night, after everyone was super-exhausted from digging up dinosaurs all day, we had a BBQ. After the BBQ, everyone got out a bunch of guns and we started playing around with them. Good times in USA! Anyway, hehe… one guy pulled out a giant elephant-type gun and loaded it with tracers. We fired them off into the distance to watch their awesome parabolas. The Artist Takes a Break In Buenos Aires, there is a very artsy area called La Boca. It's filled with tiny little studios, restaurants, tango in the streets, and all kinds of life. The colors are bright and vibrant, so, of course, I went crazy with my camera there. While exploring, I found this cool artist's studio on the second floor of an interior section. I had on my 24-70mm, and I was admiring her studio at f2.4. Then, by luck, she came to the window to peer out. I grabbed a quick one.This was edited with Nik Software, so I took this opportunity to write a Nik Review for y'all! It's very cool software, and I have put a bunch of new images inside of there... The Fed Ex Forum Awaiting the New Season I was lucky enough to get a tour of the Memphis Grizzlies home stadium when there was hardly anyone around. The Fed-Ex Forum is an amazing facility. I think it looks like a great place to go watch games. The surrounding downtown area is also very cool... seems like it would be a great way to spend a night out. I've never been in Memphis on game night, but I'll be sure to make that happen some time!Also I got to go back in the locker room and meet some of the players. The guys were so nice and affable... I couldn't get over it. I don't know what I expected, but they were just all really young nice dudes. And then I saw this little underwater rehab/training facility. It was really wide and had this conveyor belt that ran under water. I asked why it was so wide and was told it was originally used for horse rehab!
