The Old Market
I have another Disneyworld trip coming up, and I was reminded of this place. This is Epcot, one of the best spots for photography at sunset and into the evening. This area makes me long to go to some of these places for real. It's all so wonderfully fake around Disney, but that is nice in its own way. I have several more places in the Middle East to visit, and I hope to make that happen over the next few years. Before I actually decide on a place and land on the shores of Tripoli, I'll be sure to blog about it!- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest at the Stuck in Customs blog.
The Gentle Rays
On my first evening in Yosemite, the sun did some amazing things. There as a big group of Google+ people converging on Yosemite, but I arrived a day early for a little "me" time. Nature must have felt my mojo because it all conspired to create some interesting results as the rays tumbled across the valley floor.

The Lodge at Night On the final night of the Yosemite PhotoWalk, we ended up here to explore the evening. This is the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite, and I hope I made it look as beautiful as it really is. This is also the place that Steve Jobs got married.Karen Hutton and I arrived here very late at night after our extra-long walk! We could even see a few people camping for the night halfway up the mountain they were climbing. After going around the back side of the lodge, we saw the stars and trees and cliffs above...- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
The Mariposa Woods
While we were at Yosemite for the big PhotoWalk, we took an evening to visit the Mariposa Woods. They were very close to our hotel, and it was an easier drive than going all the way to the main park at Yosemite. Plus, I had a feeling the sunset would be quite stunning through the trees. My feelings don't always work out, but this time it did.My methods still haven't changed for these kinds of shots. Seven exposures: from +3 to -3 seems to get the job done. I end up with more than enough light for the post-processing.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the entire post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Google Doodle
The new Google offices in Los Angeles are right in the heart of Venice. After passing through some hardcore security, you walk down this hallway, which I guess is a bit like dying and going to Google heaven. You probably know about all the various Google doodles that decorate the home page. I heard the first one was of Burning Man. I didn't see that one on the walls... but maybe you can!- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
The Lonely Woods, Forever
Here is another photo from our recent Yosemite PhotoWalk last week. The valley floor is full of dense forests that can go on for an eternity. I had a wonderful time exploring these with all my fellow PhotoWalkers. I can't wait to do it all again soon.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest, including some info on why you won't find paid blog posts on stuckincustoms.com, here at Stuck in Customs.
The Lincoln Memorial
I got this photo in a hurry. I bet I raised a few security alarms too because of my unusual behavior.

I didn't have much time, so I had my wife drive nearby and park illegally on the curb for a few minutes. She wasn't a fan of that, but let's not talk about this right now. So, I jumped out of the car, hauled my tripod out of the trunk, and dashed across the green hill towards the memorial. I grabbed photos in a rushed way and dashed back to the car and sped away.

The Cheerful Austin Christmas Dragon
It was a great PhotoWalk in Austin last night! Remember to tag your photos with #gplusaustin -- and click around to see some stuff. We had over 100 sign up on plancast, and it got pretty crazy because a lot of people brought friends and family. It was a lot of fun to meet people.

We had one guy come in from South Africa, a gal Karen Hutton come in from California, and many more from all around the Texas area. Everyone we very nice and fun as usual.

I had an autographed 2012 calendar to give away, but I forgot! Sorry that was lame of me... I had it on the floorboard of my car and everything, but with getting the kids out and everything, I forgot - you know how it is.

Alcatraz in the Dusk
Today's photo was taken recently in San Francisco. That tower you see there in the mid-distance is Coit Tower. Just beyond that, in the middle of the bay, you can see Alcatraz.

I've never made it out to Alcatraz to take photos, but it is on my list. I wonder how much freedom (!) I would have out there to roam around with my tripod. Have any of you gotten out there?
