Lonely River in Iceland I wonder sometimes if I project my own emotions onto the landscape around me. I’m really not all that dramatic, but sometimes this does seem to be the case, especially in Iceland. Since I spend so much time there alone, I end up thinking that parts of the environs seem kind of lonely too. Driving from Petaluma to Napa I've made this trip a few times, but it is usually in the morning and on the way from Napa to Petaluma. This is usually the situation because I stay at my mom's house before going over to do a show with Leo Laporte. This time, it was the opposite (well, kinda... I didn't sleep with Leo), but I did the show first then drove to Napa to have dinner with my mom.Tom was with me, and we were on a sharp lookout for a good sunset situation. Yosemite Valley View My first trip to Yosemite was so fun!I've been to Yellowstone about a dozen times, so it was strange never to have a trip to Yosemite under my belt. Lighthouse on Roanoke Island at Sunset Ahhhh - finally a good sunset! I keep track of the sunsets like an insane meteorologist combined with a native-American shaman. I do my best to look at each day and figure out how things will end up that evening. Predicting more than a day ahead is almost impossible, unless you are at a special place on the planet around a certain type of year.On this day in North Carolina, I knew that the late afternoon storm was a small cell, and it would pass quickly, perhaps letting the sun peak beneath the clouds to light them from the bottom. San Francisco Cemetery Right after I got into San Francisco, I went into the YouTube offices for a meeting. Their offices were quite cool! It wasn't entirely what I was expecting, but I don't know what I was expecting. The team there was nice and welcoming, and they were already fans, so that made it easy.Anyway, after the meeting, I went across the street (literally a 10 min walk!) over to this old cemetery that had charming trees scattered about. Old Car in Argentina On one of the final nights in Argentina, I went out to an older area near the town which had recently been flooded. There were many abandoned cars, homes, and other lost things falling apart here and there. The Bird’s Nest From Above I was at the top of this tower late one night in Beijing. It’s a cool tower (I don’t have a photo of it), but it’s the kind of tower that will look awful in about 10 years. Anyway, this photo is not about the tower.The famous Bird’s Nest stadium was spread out beneath me. When I saw this scene, I knew I was going to shave off the top and the bottom. The bottom was kind of interesting. The top was dreadful.
