The Infinite City at Sunrise A crystal clear day in Shanghai… I had to whip out the camera for the occasion! - Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Bistrot de Lyon I went out to dinner with a bunch of cool Russians after the conference on Tuesday. We went down one of the most popular streets in Lyon to have some seafood. Afterwards, the founder of this other company and I went out to shoot photos.. I think we walked the streets for about 3 hours until 2 AM. It was a big mistake since my flight left early the next morning! Although, it is better than going out drinking with the Russians… - Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
The Fed Ex Forum Awaiting the New Season I was lucky enough to get a tour of the Memphis Grizzlies home stadium when there was hardly anyone around. The Fed-Ex Forum is an amazing facility. I think it looks like a great place to go watch games. The surrounding downtown area is also very cool... seems like it would be a great way to spend a night out. I've never been in Memphis on game night, but I'll be sure to make that happen some time! Also I got to go back in the locker room and meet some of the players. The guys were so nice and affable... I couldn't get over it. I don't know what I expected, but they were just all really young nice dudes. And then I saw this little underwater rehab/training facility. It was really wide and had this conveyor belt that ran under water. I asked why it was so wide and was told it was originally used for horse rehab! Crazy...hehe...Memphis finally got a good pick in the draft... #2! That's great for those guys... go Grizzlies! - Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
The Megopolis Hong Kong - What Happens Around Dusk Believe it or not, there is a small documentary being filmed about me. I don't know what to think about it - only to assume it is going to be rather boring! I think it is going to be a lot like Grizzly Man, just without the bear.As this gal is going about her process of gathering materials, she asked me for a few of the original shots from Hong Kong so she can show them during the documentary. I was going back through my old shots, and found that I had never processed THIS one of Hong Kong, which has a really moody dusk sky, so I spent a few hours to clean it up for publication.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
The Bombing of Dresden This is one of the most famous churches in Dresden that was bombed to bits in WWII. When it was rebuilt just recently, they reused some of the old burned black bricks in the construction. If you look close, you can still see them in there on occasion.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
A Small Carousel in France If you want to see how I made this (and how you can too!), visit my HDR Tutorial. I hope it gives you some new tricks! It was just past 10 PM on the wet streets of Paris as I was getting lost on purpose around the streets near the Church of the Sacred Heart. I bobbed and weaved through various little alleys, streets, and tiny bakeries (where I would just have to stop for a moment), before finding my way to this little faire. There was a small carousel spinning away with tiny little French children screaming wonderful things...- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Anyone Want to Join Me at the Beach for a Good Conversation? I’ll take the seat on the left… no… okay, the one on the right. It’s alright… sit in whichever one you like. Where should we put our drinks? Ahhh the grass will be fine… okay, now, what to discuss? So many places to start!- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Cartier on the Champs-Élysées at Christmas I was working on this photo this evening with a friend to show him some of the techniques that have evolved since HDR started getting popular. I find my methodology changes and evolves about every two months or so. I look back at my old stuff in horror!Ah yes… the wet streets of Paris here… Seems like an idyllic place for this little store called Cartier, eh?- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
The Trouble with Iceland is That There is None This is a river fed by the high mountains of Iceland. I took a trek across a field on a hunch that the river would have some nice curves and reflections.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
