Old Man on Steps near Drum Tower While I was circling the Drum Tower in Beijing, there was a small community of people that were outside exercising, milling around, talking, and watching the world go by. Many of the homes in the little houtong had their doors painted red, and that was a common element that tied everything together. The Nest I took this photo while I was outside another tower in the open air with Joe McNally. It was a great time.. It was also a bit scary.For this one, I took my 28-300 and turned it upright to portrait mode and zoomed in quite tight. Father and Daughter in Beijing I was in one of my favorite artsy/bohemian areas of Beijing with my D3S doing some people-photography. It’s some of the best people-watching in the world around there.This area is full of all sorts of galleries, shops, curio-stores, antique shops, and other various unique Chinese shopping. The crowd ranges from the wildly artistic to families out on a little escapade. Neo-Gypsy in the Desert I was walking across the playa at Burning Man with Tom when we came across this gypsy of sorts. She was kind of dancing through the desert eating a bag of chips. That was surreal and everything, but then it felt even stranger when she pulled out her iPhone to make a few notes about our meeting. Farm Between Fjords The fjords of Northern Iceland weave in and out of the ocean, each one ending with a strong peninsula that juts out into the sea. Just on the inland side of these wide peninsulas, there are many lakes and little farms that sit nestled between little mountains and hillocks. They fit in so naturally that you almost don't even notice them. Girl in Park in Beijing I was walking around a park in Beijing -- and it was quite unusual. It was a city park, but it had all sorts of rides like Disneyworld. Except, it wasn't really very good. It was quite dated and everything was spread out all over the place. To get from one attraction to the other, you had to walk for almost a mile along lonely pathways.There would be occasional clusters of people here and there, mysteriously milling about. The Minecraft Waterfall Speaking of Minecraft, our server is up and running again. Drop a note below if you want to join. I had to kick a kid and ban him from the server because he was destroying stuff and acting uncool. The rules are simple… don’t destroy stuff, don’t steal, and don’t defile the farm animals.This waterfall reminds me of one of those long never-ending waterfall/rivers from Minecraft. Except, it’s kind of 100x more awesome because it is real. There are hundreds of these all over Iceland. From The Top of the Great Wall Far in the north, this area of the Great Wall has been overgrown with vegetation. Birds and little creatures are all over the place. A path has been made over time, and it weaves in and out of these overgrown bits. I was walking around a park in Beijing -- and it was quite unusual. It was a city park, but it had all sorts of rides like Disneyworld. Except, it wasn't really very good. It was quite dated and everything was spread out all over the place. To get from one attraction to the other, you had to walk for almost a mile along lonely pathways.

There would be occasional clusters of people here and there, mysteriously milling about. Inside one of the clusters was this girl, so I grabbed a quick shot with my 50mm lens on the D3s.
