It was quite rainy in Singapore while we were there, but it made for some great photos and reflections. This is the Esplanade Theater and a lot of the locals think it looks like a durian, possibly one of the worst fruits that ever evolved. This affronting fruit must have somehow stayed in the food chain thanks to monkeys or something. But, I actually know a few humans that like it. It smells so bad to most people that it is banned in hotels and airplanes. My Singaporean and Malaysian friends are constantly trying to force me to enjoy durian. They give me deep-fried durian, durian ice cream, durian yogurt, and durian candy. It's all horrible and I can barely keep myself from vomiting and it just makes them laugh. At some point, I'll figure out their tricks. Singapore
When it comes to government housing, it's hard to get more interesting than this! We had a long day running all around Hong Kong and exploring with my new friend Simon. He was a local Chinese guy and a great local resource to show me some of his favorite spots. I think this was my final shot for the evening before we decided to go off bar-hopping together. Simon was a serious drinker. It was hard to keep up with him. He'd even slam some beers in the morning before heading out to take photos. He always seemed to be happy and full of energy, so I guess that formula worked pretty well for him. Hong Kong, China
I got to be friends with Matt when we were roommates on the Camino de Santiago together. Our friend Kevin Kelly puts together regular group walks with about a dozen people. Everyone was interesting and there were people from all walks of life. People usually end up walking in twos or threes and everyone just chats it up all day long. We started in Portugal and walked all the way to Spain and ended where the pilgrimage always ends in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. After that, we had a final dinner party with many laughs and many tears. Matt used his sweet beard to absorb all the tears and they turned into loving kisses that lasted all night long. Fun fact about Matt? He's the creator of WordPress the tech that runs a massive percentage of sites on the net! Camino de Santago, Spain
