This monolith along the Bund, Shanghai is where the whole group met for the photo walk while on the Asia tour. Besides all the great people I met there, it was also amazing to run into Liam Gowing, who was a guy I went to Jesuit High School with! He was like the “cool” guy that was the lead singer of the band… I was not cool in high school, believe me. But now, we were both kinda cool, I guess. Hey, cool is a state of mind, right? Wow I wish I knew my animals better. When I roll around Africa, I'm constantly asking, what is THAT animal called again? And the guide is like, "Oh, that's an ELEPHANT, Trey." I'm like okay... since when did they have trunks? I think the guides think I am dumb or something... but, actually more, seriously, there are about 100 deer-like creatures with different horns. This one is called like a Springbok or something. Or maybe not. I really don't know. It's not an elephant, though. Read more: https://stuckincustoms.com
Today’s photo is one of my unique commissioned works I did for a collector. As for other collectable photos, you can go visit www.TreyRatcliff.com to see more. This print was was one-of-one, which is what I usually do for collectors. This is actually the same collector that introduced me over dinner to Edward Norton and Leo DiCaprio in LA, and they ended up getting some prints as well from the series. This was a rather difficult photo to create, but it makes a lot more sense when you see it large and your eye is able to travel across the length of it. It’s made out of about 100 different photos, all taken around the same time, but the light would constantly change and flex… it reminded me that when you look at an actual panoramic scene, your eye and brain build a patchwork quilt of disparate parts. https://www.TreyRatcliff.com
