I never thought I would use this as a title for a photo, but then again, I never thought I'd run into a guy like this. It was the last day of the burn and it must have been over 110 degrees. This character was "walking" around through the deep playa on his own, making unusual growling and breathing sounds. He ambled over to us. I got the feeling he needed some water, so I unscrewed my water bottle. If you look close, you can see he has a long proboscis, and he dipped it deep inside my well and made the craziest sounds while sucking down the water. Burning Man, Nevada
How incredible is this spot? I had always wanted to go to White Sands in New Mexico, but it was never that easy to get there. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere! Well, our bus tour was passing through El Paso and we decided to park for a while and rent a car to get out here for a spell. The sand was so white and soft… like warm gentle snow that never melts. We didn't get much beach time on Okinawa, even though the place is packed with beaches! Most of our time was spent in the inside parts of the island. Most Japanese think of the mountains and hills for vacation and not-so-much the beach. Anyway, as soon as we made it out here, I saw this cute little girl playing in the sand. - Trey Ratcliff Click here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
