This is one of the many beautiful things you see while looking down on a chopper flight from Queenstown down towards Paradise. I love the way these steep mountains jut into the water like angry teeth. And the colors and the way everything folds together — I can’t ever get enough of it!- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Even though I absolutely love these kind of clouds, what I also really dig is the color of these long grasses. You only get this color at this time of year, and only when you have direct sunlight. It’s amazing how much direct sunlight affects the colors… making them all glow like translucent jewels.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Just north of Beijing is a long vertical series of buildings that leads to the Ming Tombs. It’s not exactly convenient to get here, but it’s a nice walk and interesting visit along the way. In many regards, these Chinese temples are all pretty much the same. I try not to be jaded like that, but there really is little variation in each one. They are all striking and interesting, yes, but in many ways they are quite cookie-cutter. But I guess that’s why they are so in many places, like Starbucks… you kinda know what you’re gonna get.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
