I was in Chengdu near a hot pot place that was entertaining the diners with a little opera variety show. Between shows, the girls would go sit outside and eat snacks, still with all their makeup on. I feel like this Blade Runner trope is getting old. I wish I had another comparison to make. Fifth Element, maybe? Yeah, either way, even though I am a total introvert, I do enjoy spending a bit of time in these crazy cities. Maybe because I live in a tiny town of less than 50,000, I get overly excited with my camera when hitting these megacities in China. I've been to a few of these different floating markets, but I've never seen them from above until this time that I visited Langkawi. Our concierge at the Ritz-Carlton there got us a boat to use for the day. This floating market was much better than my last one near Bangkok. I remember I was there and it must have been 120 degrees with no wind. I got stuck in a boat traffic jam for about three hours, trying to jam-float my way through the market.
