I've been experimenting with a new post-processing technique. Let me see if I can explain it.I process the photo using my usual steps, which, I suppose, are nothing but usual. But if you've seen the new HDR Tutorial, then you know the kind of stuff I do. But then, at the end, I run the final photo through Silver Efex Pro. I then take that layer and change the blend mode to either Hardlight or Overlay. That is what gives the kind of effect you see here.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Yes, this is a weird photo indeed. I was hired by Air New Zealand to take photos of their new business class seats. I had a very strange idea to put them outside of some Hobbit holes in Matamata, where there are 44 different Hobbit homes you can visit. I wasn't in love with my "concept" but their team sure loved it and used it everywhere. Still, it made for a bit of a surreal photo. Hobbiton, New Zealand
See that little sheepy there on the left? I think he must eat the tall parts of all the grass in that entire field to keep it looking perfect. In fact, I'm often amazed at these huge fields of perfect grass. No one ever mows them, and usually, there are almost no sheep. I have no idea how the grass is so perfect all the time. It's really mind-bending and I stop thinking about it too much after a while because it begins to hurt. It's that same kind of brain-hurt that you think about when you wonder what things would be like if there was no universe. I put it up there on that scale. Iceland
