For most of my first week in Gisborne, the weather was terrible and rainy. This was our first crystal clear night... so I made the best of it by staying up till about 4 AM taking photos... I kind of wanted to stay awake all the way until the next day, but I could not make it happen. New Zealand has such a beautiful coastline. You just can't go wrong no matter where you are. You either get stunning beaches or dramatic cliffs. This was my first time exploring the East Coast so I was naturally quite excited to see how different it was from the rest of the country. I went to DC last year to meet with my friends at the Ritz-Carlton (that's where they are based). I got there a day early in the middle of a dramatic blizzard.
