We had an amazing day in Mont Saint Michel. It was much too short, and I want to go back again to explore more⦠but I was happy to escape with a few shots! Here's one that I took right before I was about to give up and walk back to our bus. I was about to pack up my tripod but then turned around to see a bus coming toward Mont Saint Michel. I quickly set everything up to get a long exposure right as soon as the bus passed, hoping it would give some dreamy light streaks towards the old monastery. - Trey Ratcliff Click here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Whenever I find interesting art at Burning Man, I try to take photos of it at least four times throughout the day. Sunrise, middle of the day, sunset, and finally at night. Most of the art is lit up in completely unexpected ways depending on the time so it's almost like the art lives and breathes with the playa. This piece was made by Laura Kimpton. Burning Man, Nevada
I took a boat out at 4 o'dark to try to find some of these fisherman early in the morning. This is on the Li River in southern China. I was in another boat, not much bigger or safer than this one, and we were speeding along at a break neck pace. The water was black; the sky was black. My mood was dark. I can't believe we didn't have some terrible boat accident into the empty black, but everything turned out okay, and then we found this wonderful fisherman coming out of the fog.
