Yeah, I can't tell you how many people I talked to in Venice that just don't have a single good word to say about this somewhat famous (infamous?) bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava. It's pretty, yes, as you can see. But most of it is glass, and you walk on glass to get over. The glass isn't even see-through. It's just slippery as hell. And I can definitely see how it is slippery in the rain, but it must be a nightmare when it freezes. I wasn't allowed to bring my tripod inside, so I had to try to be steady-freddy handheld! It makes it a little easier holding the Sony A7r Mark II because of the sensor-stabilization. Sometimes it's hard to tell if these are models hired by professional photographers or if they are just regular people that are dressed up! Like, this girl for example, when I came upon her, there was some guy bossing her around. But then I realized it was the same guy that I had seen a few hours ago. I was taking photos of another girl for about five minutes. She was obviously a free agent, just wandering about. But then this guy came up and starting bossing her around, telling her where to stand and stuff. He wasn't too nice about it either… and then he took photos and walked away! There's actually a few people like that out there… so strange, I think! - Trey Ratcliff Click here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
