A New Photo of Rockefeller center So, a few days ago I received a letter from the Smithsonian saying that I have another one in the running for the 6th Annual Photo Contest! Cool! Two years ago, I had 2 winners in the 4th Annual Photo Contest , and one of those ended up hanging in the Smithsonian castle in DC. I know a few of you out there got to see it on road trips – maybe we can make another pilgrimage this year!. I didn’t win anything last year in the 5th annual contest… It was a bad year for me, what can I say?- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
This is yet another epic sculpture out there, and it gets even more epic when the sandstorms roll in. They had fun plan here to burn it down. As I recall, they handed out hundreds of tiny little mirrors to people on the clearest, hottest, sunniest day. We all took the mirrors and aimed them at the head, trying to make it erupt in flame, but it never really worked. It did give me a great idea for a big wooden ant sculpture with a huge steampunk magnifying glass. The magnifying glass would slowly rotate every day until Saturday when it would be at the perfect angle to catch the sun and burn the ant. Burning Man, Nevada
We flew with Choppy over these amazing tiny islands in the middle of Lake Wakatipu on the way to a really cool ranch. They say that these islands are so named because they look like those animals from above. Well, here I am, and I can't say that I see it! Can you? I'm not even sure which is which. I assume “pig” is the bigger one, but, well, it doesn't look so piggy. http://www.stuckincustoms.com/2014/12/11/pig-island-and-pigeon-island/
