Burning Man
Awesome Earth People
Big Cities and Little 'uns
Wow Japanese people love to shop! There is nonstop shopping all over the place, but especially in this district here called Dotonbori. The exact area of Dotombori is hard to define, but it covers many city blocks. It's so big, in fact, that I didn't even find this vast area until my fourth visit here! - Trey Ratcliff Click here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Flying in the wind... One of the cool things about the flat, dried out lakebed Burning Man is the sizeable mountains that surround it on all sides. They form a really nice background for certain kinds of shots like these.
I'll save the overnight story for another blog post, but first I can tell you about the mini-struggle to get this photo! So, we found this place online that looked fairly legit. This “company” can get you up on top of the wall for a hike and an overnight camping trip. This guy and his driver picked us up at the hotel and we spent most of the day together. He seemed pretty legit, but less so as the day got closer to night. It was close to sunset, and he really wanted us to come into his farmhouse to take a shower. We said we don't really want to shower, but we want to get a sunset photo from the wall. He was really angling for this shower business, which we thought was strange. Finally, he admitted that we can't go up onto the wall until the guards go home from duty. This was the first indication that we were involved with a shady operation. More on the story in a future post! Read more: https://www.stuckincustoms.com/2018/07/19/camping-out-on-the-great-wall/ Copyright Trey Ratcliff www.StuckInCustoms.com
