The Dubbo Drive In The night before was stormy and wet and all around rather unDubbo. I had read stories from Mark Twain about people needing to use a shovel on their carpet to get dirt out of their homes in Dubbo. But I didn’t see any of that. On the morning we flew back to Sydney, I saw this abandoned drive-in-theater. The venue was all locked up, and there was a big sign that warned of a guard dog. I discounted the sign because it looked older than the average age of a guard dog.So then I figured out the best way to wedge my body between the gates while staying below the barbed wire. After being my willing accomplice and handing me the tripod, Neal snapped that photo above.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
The Secret Path Through the Bamboo Forest I went on a hike through an amazing old forest while on Oahu. It was a wet and rainy day, and the muddy path was so slippery — there was almost a negative friction! At one point about halfway into the hike, we came across this natural door over the pathway formed by the trees. I took a break from the slipping and sliding to get a photo. At the end of the hike, we found a hose down at the bottom… we hosed each other off like a couple of dogs in heat…- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Construction in Cleveland I went out with my host during the Kent State speech, Lester Lefton, and this is the first place he brought me! I don’t think other guests get to do things like this… you know… go to dangerous construction sites and stuff… But, if you could not tell, it turns out to be an awesome place for a little photography adventure! :)This was actually the FIRST photo I ever took with a D800, and it was using Lester’s camera. I put in my memory card, which felt a little weird. But then when I looked through the viewfinder and snapped away, it felt like my own! Anyway, we had a great time together.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the entire post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
