Eat at Facebook Last week I spent the day at Facebook and got a private photo-tour of the campus. They just moved to their new HQ, so it was interesting to see how everything was spread out. I was first escorted by a private security guy. He was ex-Marine and kind of a bad-ass. I asked if there were a lot of ex-Marines now hired at Facebook and he said there were quite a few… I figured they were the ones that were most badass.I took a ton of photos, and I don’t know why I am sharing this one first, but here it is anyway. There are many cafeterias all over the campus, and I thought that this one was kinda cool… - Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
Right after dinner was the best time to hit the top decks for some photography while on this cruise. Most nights we had amazing sunsets, so I feel lucky for that. See that little room to the left with the glass? That’s where I spent most of my days, relaxing, reading, drinking coffee, and working on photos! So, even when I am on a cruise, my schedule stays relatively the same. I find that if I work on photos every day, it fights back staring into a void of nihilism. I know that sounded dramatic, and it is indeed. Alaska
While leaving Harajuku, I saw this guy walking toward the action. I still had on my 50mm prime and I wasn’t quite close enough, but he had the right stride, so I took the shot. I cropped in quite heavily in post, and then I ran one of my Lightroom Preset filters on it… I took this right before the photo workshop in Tokyo, and this is one of the many photos I edited during the class. It was a great time to really get out there and experiment with new kinds of shots, and Harajuku offers an endless stream of interesting subjects. Harajuku, Tokyo, Japan
