No Pool This Beautiful Should be Empty at a Time Like This I think the title says it all!I've never been much of a swimmer. I mean, I can swim just fine and I'm as bouyant as anyone my age should be, but I don't really like it as a form of exercise. THere is always so much that goes into the perparation bit of the exercise. Also, since I can't liseten to my iPod while I swim, that's kind of a deal-killer. I've heard they have some new water-proof MP3 players, but that just sounds like too much trouble all around.Anyway, this was a 5-exposure HDR that went from -2 to +2. I'm convinced it's the only way to shoot into the sun and get all the light levels of the details around the pool.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
We floated by about 100 of these little islands in the fjords. I kind of felt like I wanted to jump off the boat, swim over, and explore them all! I always wondered if there were bears and stuff behind some of those trees… a bear there just kind of owning that island and killing anything that comes there. That seems like the kind of awesome thing a bear would do… I was on a Disney cruise there with my kids. Before I went, I was kind of dreading being on a boat with hundreds of horrible children. Not MY children, mind you. They are not horrible. Well, most of the time. Anyway, I was completely wrong. It was quite a nice ship and the kids were engaged in all sorts of activities all day so there was plenty of time for "adulting." I don't know exactly what that means, since I rarely act like an adult. Gulf of Alaska
I needed to spend more time here! But I suppose it is a good reason to go back. Arches National Park was nonstop gold! It’s always been on my list, and I never actually made it a point to go here until after I moved out of the US. I really had no excuse for not going while I was there. I guess it just seemed far away or whatever, which seems silly after I went there all the way from New Zealand! I guess everywhere is far away from somewhere else. That’s something I say when people ask me about living in New Zealand. They say, “Well isn’t that far away?” Everything is so relative to your daily life and travels. For example, in Queenstown, NZ, where I live, it's just a small town with about 30,000 people. There is basically no traffic, but occasionally in a burst, it may take 15-20 minutes to get somewhere instead of 5-10, and, boy oh boy, you should hear the locals complain. Arches National Park, Utah
