The Mudmen in Papua New Guinea

Now these cats are pretty cool and scary. There is a legend that these Asaro warriors were forced to retreat and hide in a river during war. They'd cover themselves in mud to hide and escape... but when they were finally found, the enemy assumed they were some kind of cursed spirit and ran away. I don't know if that is true or not, but they seemed pretty convincing to me. Goroka, Papua New Guinea
