If I am going to shoot photos in the middle of the day, these are my absolute favorite kinds of clouds. These are usually hot days and the big clouds are angry and want to form a storm, but they just can’t get it done, so they roil about and look dramatic. This is one of the many temple complexes around the ancient town of Lijiang. There were hundreds of different ways and places to shoot, so I often find the process of choosing just a few to be an interesting challenge.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post on the Stuck in Customs.
Aulani Resort & Spa in Ko Olina I didn’t stay at this hotel, but I did visit for a few hours one evening to take photos for fun. Tom and I went over here since we heard it was pretty nice. Disney resorts are often built for photography, especially in the dusk hours when there is a cool mixture of natural and artificial light. I’d gladly return to this resort to stay for a few nights! - Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
The Dubbo Drive In The night before was stormy and wet and all around rather unDubbo. I had read stories from Mark Twain about people needing to use a shovel on their carpet to get dirt out of their homes in Dubbo. But I didn’t see any of that. On the morning we flew back to Sydney, I saw this abandoned drive-in-theater. The venue was all locked up, and there was a big sign that warned of a guard dog. I discounted the sign because it looked older than the average age of a guard dog.So then I figured out the best way to wedge my body between the gates while staying below the barbed wire. After being my willing accomplice and handing me the tripod, Neal snapped that photo above.- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
